A routine patrol near the Worcester Police Department headquarters yesterday evening resulted in an arrest. The Crime Gun Intelligence Unit, during their surveillance, observed twenty-year-old Yvan Soup, who had multiple outstanding warrants. According to WPD's press release, Soup was seen in the back seat of a vehicle.
Detectives promptly activated their emergency lights to stop the vehicle. Once outside, Soup was taken into custody. During the search, a loaded high-capacity firearm was found in his possession, with an obscured serial number. The situation was complicated further by the lack of required government-issued paperwork. According to the official report, Soup acknowledged his mistake.
The firearm and accompanying ammunition were seized by the Crime Scene Unit. Soup faces multiple serious charges, including possession of a large capacity firearm, carrying a firearm and ammunition without the necessary licenses, possession of a large capacity feeding device, and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number. Additionally, he is charged with resisting arrest and possession of an open alcohol container.
