Yucca Valley residents awoke to the sound of sirens on Wednesday morning as San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies descended upon the intersection of Airway Avenue and Primrose Drive. The officers were responding to a disturbing report of a woman brandishing a firearm in broad daylight. Their search led them to 38-year-old Cynthia Marie Alderson, found with the weapon and loose ammunition around her, sitting near a local business.
Upon investigation, the deputies uncovered that not only was Alderson in possession of a firearm and ammunition, stolen earlier that day, but she was also a convicted felon, barred from such possessions. As reported by San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, Alderson was booked on multiple charges including felon possession of a firearm and ammunition, along with theft of a firearm.
Set at Morongo Basin jail, Alderson's bail was $30,000. Scattered around her during the arrest. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is reaching out to anyone who may have information regarding this incident.
