
A 3-year-old girl in Detroit was hospitalized after being shot in the leg when unidentified assailants fired multiple rounds into a home on Saturday afternoon. The incident happened around 4:25 p.m. on the 15400 block of Manor. According to Detroit Police, the shooters targeted the rear of the house, as reported by CBS News Detroit.
The young child was watching her mother play video games when she was hit, and she is currently receiving medical care at a local children's hospital. The Detroit Police added that apart from the injured girl, the mother and two other children, present in the house were unharmed in the incident. Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made as of yet. FOX 2 Detroit noted that authorities have not disclosed any information regarding suspects or motive behind the shooting.
Assistant Chief Charles Fitzgerald denounced the perpetrators, stating, "These cowards want to run up beyond a house and fire into the home," in a report by FOX 2 Detroit. Fitzgerald affirmed that the department is committed to utilizing every available technological resource to apprehend the individuals responsible. Additionally, law enforcement is also employing K9 units in the search for the suspect or suspects.
