Arizonans are showing their support for local businesses this Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to helping neighborhood entrepreneurs. Sarah Small, the owner of 'Wicker Goddess', a shop that has expanded from social media to a physical location, shared her excitement, saying, "This is, like, my favorite day of the year." She emphasized the positive impact of local support, stating, "when you support a local business, you can really change someone’s life and really support their dream," as reported by FOX10 Phoenix.
Events like the Phoenix Flea and the Uptown Farmer's Market are offering opportunities for small businesses to showcase their products. Ashlee Molina, the founder of Phoenix Flea, shared with FOX10 Phoenix, "It’s an opportunity to help small businesses succeed," adding, "It makes their year. It’s such a huge difference." Meanwhile, the Uptown Farmer's Market continues to feature local produce and handmade goods, operating from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., becoming a popular destination in central Phoenix.
LendingTree’s survey shows that more than half of Americans plan to shop at small businesses on Small Business Saturday. Alice from Gilbert Made told FOX10 Phoenix, "When you’re helping a small business, you’re helping a family opposed to a big box store." The 7th Annual Black Friday, Small Business Saturday Buy Local Block Party will feature 100 small businesses, music, food trucks, and a bounce house for family fun from 12 to 5 p.m., according to AZ Family.
