Visitors to Arlington this week with young children may wish to take part in the celebrations for Children's Book Week at the Arlington Public Library. The library is hosting a variety of family-friendly activities, including storytimes, a scavenger hunt, and craft programs, all designed to spark the imaginations of young attendees.
The week’s highlight will occur on Saturday, November 9, at 11 a.m., when Arlington’s literature enthusiasts, young and old alike, are invited to an author talk featuring Kimberly Willis-Holt. This event, held in the distinguished setting of the City Council Chambers, promises an engaging encounter with the written word for the entire family. The Arlington Public Library, in a Facebook post, shared: “Happy Children's Book Week! We have storytimes, a scavenger hunt, crafts, and more fun programs.”
For those unfamiliar, Children's Book Week is a national celebration of children's literature dating back to 1919, aimed at encouraging a love of reading among young people. The Arlington Public Library, recognizing the importance of this tradition, has organized these events to reinforce its commitment to literacy and childhood education.
