Tragedy struck in Auburn on Wednesday night as a man found himself the victim of gunfire during what police believe was an attempted robbery. The incident occurred near the intersection of faith and commerce—a church and a 7-Eleven in the 600 block of M Street Northeast. According to KING5, the man was walking to his car when two suspects cloaked in black approached and tried to rob him.
After an altercation that the police believe was connected to the attempted robbery, the man was shot at least once. An effort promptly took to the air, not sparing any precious time, and the man was airlifted to receive critical care, thus shedding light on the stark realities of violence that haunt even the most unsuspecting streets. "He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition," reported Fox13 Seattle.
The Auburn Police Department responded to the crime scene and is now engaged in a manhunt. The authorities have unleashed the canines, hoping to trace the scent of the suspects who fled the scene on foot, indicating a direct, though primal, response to the immediacy of violence. In their investigative fervor, "The APD said the two suspects fled on foot and officers are 'conducting a K9 track' while detectives are also investigating," relayed an update from KOMO News.
