The sudden closure of Brio Studios in Brookfield has raised concerns among parents and employees. The studio, which had been a popular spot for dance programs, unexpectedly ceased operations, leaving families and staff without answers. Employees, including program director Jade Mattner, are facing financial difficulties. "The last paycheck that cleared was in September," Mattner said on TMJ4.
TMJ4 News reported that the owner asked parents not to contact her and provided no solution for the financial losses or the sudden end to the dance instruction. "Beginning November 4th, I was promised $300 a day, and I haven’t seen a dime of it," Mattner said in an interview.
Brittany Arata shared her concerns with FOX6 Now about the impact on her 4-year-old daughter after her dance classes and an upcoming recital were canceled. "It just gives her so much confidence and she loves it," Arata explained.
According to Sami Teel, whose daughter attended the studio, "I know the family is having some hard times right now with a diagnosis that they received in the family. And then in addition to that, just stating it was very high level, just that there is financial issues and that they'd be closing immediately." Those connected to the studio are seeking more information about the circumstances surrounding its closure, as stated by WISN.
