The Cohasset Police Department has made a significant breakthrough in their month-long auto theft investigation by apprehending Yamauris G. Sanchez, a 28-year-old from Lawrence, who is allegedly connected with a $43,000 vehicle swindle from a local business. Linked to these events, Sherlyn C. Sanabia, aged 22, of Haverhill, faces a range of charges including larceny of a motor vehicle and misleading a police investigation; she was taken into custody by detectives Julie Hall and Michael Lopes earlie today and arraigned in district court, as posted on the Cohasset Police Department's Facebook page.
Detectives Hall and Lopes were acknowledged for their work on the case. Cohasset Police Chief William Quigley stated that the detectives executed several search warrants, primarily focused on electronic data related to the theft and other potential crimes, requiring a thorough review of extensive information. Despite the arrests, the stolen 2022 white Audi SQ5 has not been recovered. As Chief Quigley mentioned, the investigation remains open, indicating the possibility of further developments.
