Last month, the Lake Mathews Sheriff's Station initiated an investigation into disturbing reports of lewd acts being committed against a minor, with allegations pointing to two adult males engaging in the exploitation of a male juvenile. The team, through diligent examination of social media trails and conducting a series of interviews, ultimately apprehended one suspect linked to these heinous acts.
The investigation took a decisive turn on November 5 when officers received a tip that Joel Rikardo Medina, a 24-year-old Corona resident, planned to quickly arrange a meeting with the victim. Armed with this information, investigators set up a sting operation and managed to arrest Medina in the 100 block of McKinley Street, taking him into custody without further incident, as reported by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office. Medina now faces multiple charges, including several counts of lewd acts and sexual assault against a minor. He is currently being held at the Robert Presley Detention Center.
The second suspect involved in the exploitation remains at large. The Lake Mathews Sheriff's investigators are persisting to sift through evidence and leads to identify and locate this individual. The investigation remains active and ongoing, with no new information being released to the public as of yet.
