Public transit riders in Corvallis, take note: upcoming detours will affect your commute this Tuesday. The city of Corvallis has announced a temporary rerouting for bus Routes 3, 8, and the Philomath Connection on Tuesday, due to the Kids Basketball Event at Oregon State University (OSU). According to a notice from the city, the changes will be in effect from 7 am until 4 pm.
For those typically catching the bus along these routes, the detour will mean a temporary shakeup in stops and schedules—Eastbound on Western Blvd, passengers will find their route rerouted with a left turn on 30th St., and a right on Jefferson Way, finishing with a left on 26th Street to resume the regular route. Three stops will be out of service: Western Blvd & Grove St., where the nearest available will now be at Western Blvd. & 35th Street and both 26th St. & A Avenue and 26th St. & Washington Way, where riders will need to catch their bus at the alternative stop located at 26th Street & Jefferson Way.
These detours and stop closures will undoubtedly cause some delays and require commuters to adjust their travel plans accordingly, so plan and allow extra time for travel. Full details about the temporary detours are available on the city of Corvallis' official website, so commuters can consult the specifics and prepare for the upcoming changes to ensure a smoother ride.
