An incident at Cypress Park High School has left a student, Morgan Johnson, seriously injured. She was struck and pinned between two cars in the school parking lot, as reported by Click2Houston.

Morgan's mother, Netisha Walton, expressed her distress and called for increased safety measures saying "He hit the accelerator and hit her twice," which she recounted during an interview; the district had earlier discontinued her daughter's bus service, a decision that now haunts the family Walton also noted that her daughter experienced "a lot of pain" and "flashbacks of what happened" since the incident has her questioning the district's commitment to student safety, according to a KHOU 11 News report.

The Cy-Fair Independent School District stated that two officers were present on campus overseeing a schoolwide pep rally at the time of the incident and that an investigation was initiated as soon as the accident was reported. Walton, however, expressed concern over the lack of immediate assistance upon her arrival at the scene, according to her statement to Click2Houston.

Following the incident, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist with the medical expenses incurred by Walton, a single mother of four, who has expressed concerns about the financial burden the accident has placed on her family, Walton told KHOU 11 that "I don’t have the money right now to take her. I just need some help with the medical bills." The district maintains that they are actively investigating the incident with the welfare of their students as a priority.
