Throughout National Animal Shelter and Rescue Appreciation Week, Dallas Animal Services took the opportunity to extend profound recognition to their dedicated team for their ongoing efforts in animal care and community service. Last week's statistics revealed a pressing situation: the dogs' capacity was at a staggering 141% with 403 intakes, which sharply contrasts with the 82% capacity for cats. Despite these challenging conditions, the shelter managed to successfully find new homes for 130 dogs and 73 cats, a testament to the tireless work of the adoption unit. "Let's celebrate each other and the positive impact we make together," as per the City of Dallas, emphasizing the collaborative spirit central to their mission.

The playgroup and foster units have been especially noted for their roles in socializing animals and providing temporary homes, respectively. These departments are integral in preparing pets for future adoption.
