The Dallas Park and Recreation Department is set to reveal a new suite of all-battery-powered, autonomous maintenance machines. This new equipment is an embodiment of the city's commitment to slash carbon emissions and usher in a more sustainable future for its green spaces. So, if you're into cutting-edge tech and clean air, mark your calendars for the Kiest Softball Complex demonstration.
At 11:30 a.m. this coming Monday, the city council's finest, including the Chair of the Parks, Trails, and the Environment Committee, Kathy Stewart, and a host of others, are ready to proudly unveil these robotic lawnmowers, trimmers, and blowers. It's all happening just after their committee meeting. These officials are ready to eagerly demonstrate how the city of Dallas plans to continuously not just talk about environmental challenges but also tackle them head-on.
As reported by a bulletin on the City of Dallas website, the Kiest Softball Complex at Kiest Park will host the event at its 48-acre site. In attendance will be John D. Jenkins, Director of Dallas Park and Recreation, and Carlos R. Evans, Director of the Office of Environmental Quality & Sustainability, to name but a few. They, along with council members, are anticipated to outline the impact these machines will have on the city's parks and the broader environment.
