Collector's Edition, a hobby shop stocked with sports memorabilia, trading cards, jerseys and anime figures, plans to open a new storefront at Allen Premium Outlets at 820 W. Stacy Road, Suite 310, right next to the Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop. The store is targeting an October 1 grand opening after relocating out of a Plano mall that's being cleared out for redevelopment.
The move comes after The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano, Collector's Edition's previous home, set an August 31 deadline for tenants to vacate ahead of a planned demolition, according to The Real Deal. The mall is being torn down to make way for a roughly $3 billion mixed-use redevelopment that could eventually include a proposed Dallas Stars arena district. A Bigger Mall Overhaul Behind the Move
The redevelopment project, known as The Bend, aims to replace the enclosed mall — built in 2001 — with a mix of office, residential, hotel and retail space, according to Local Profile. Collector's Edition is moving to the open-air Allen Premium Outlets instead.
Allen Premium Outlets has over 120 stores, per prior reporting from CoStar. Collector's Edition will join the outlet center's retail lineup.
Inspections Push Back the Soft Opening
The store's official grand opening is scheduled for October 1, the retailer said in a statement posted to its Facebook page.
Once open, the shop's inventory will extend well beyond sports cards and jerseys. Shoppers can expect Funko Pops, action figures, Pokémon cards, Magic: The Gathering cards, Marvel and DC collectibles, wrestling merchandise and sealed wax packs, according to the retailer's own site.
Riding a Growing Collectibles Market
Collector's Edition is opening its doors as the collectibles business is booming nationally. The global sports memorabilia market was valued at $34.6 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $74.8 billion by 2034, with trading cards holding the largest single product category share at 31.4%, according to a report from Dataintelo.
Collector's Edition will open next to the Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop at Allen Premium Outlets. The shop's arrival also adds to a run of new retail concepts landing at Allen Premium Outlets recently, including Coach's new in-store coffee shop announced in May and a planned Timberland footwear outpost.
Legal Questions Still Loom Over the Outlet Mall
Separately, Allen Premium Outlets remains at the center of an ongoing legal fight tied to the May 2023 mass shooting at the property. The Texas Supreme Court has scheduled oral arguments for Wednesday to decide whether Simon Property Group can be removed from a premises liability lawsuit filed by victims, according to KERA News.
