The landscape of Denton could be shifting with a proposed rezoning on Teasley Lane. A public hearing has been set by the City of Denton Planning and Zoning Commission to discuss a request by Erin and Jeffrey Huebner. The change would see approximately 0.684 acres of land transition from the Rural Residential and Residential 2 zoning districts to the Suburban Corridor zoning district. This site is specifically located west of Teasley Lane, just north of Leatherwood Lane, as per the City of Denton.
Local residents have the opportunity to make their voices heard at the public hearing scheduled for December 11, 6:30 pm, at the City Hall Council Chambers situated at 215 E McKinney St. Having provided their phone number, (912) 248-0071, the Huebners stand as the point of contact for this project.
What transpires during the Planning & Zoning Commission's hearing is not the end of the road. Their recommendations are a mere precursor to the final decision to be passed down by the City Council on December 17. It's incumbent to note that the Council may approve any request that aligns with or surpasses the restrictions of the current ask, insofar as it resonates with the overarching objectives of the Denton 2040 Comprehensive Plan.
