The City of Denton Police Department is reveling in a significant milestone achievement bagged by the Explorers program at LaGrone Academy. The program has claimed first place at the esteemed Plano X Explorer competition, a grueling 12-hour event designed to simulate a patrol shift. According to a post by the City of Denton Police Department, the Explorers showcased their prowess in various scenarios that tested their mental acuity and physical stamina.
The department proudly celebrated the young participants' success in the invite-only competition, which involved ten challenging scenarios, such as domestic disturbances, bomb threats, and critical incidents. Through the weekly Explorers program, these youths are trained to work as a team, strategize, and overcome obstacles in preparation for events like this.
The Explorers program's triumph is not solely a testament to the competitors’ determination but also reflects the unwavering dedication of their advisors. "We are extremely proud of our Explorers and would like to express our gratitude to all our advisors who continue to help train these young men and woman on a weekly basis," the Denton Police Department posted on social media, acknowledging the critical role these mentors play in honing the skills and character of these future law enforcement professionals.
