Downtown Garland is gearing up for the holiday season, introducing several opportunities for families and friends to create festive memories. Premiering at the heart of these events is Santa Claus, a seasonal staple for kids and adults alike, ready to pose for photos and spread holiday cheer. Throughout the season, residents can find the jolly old elf at various community gatherings including Small Business Saturday, Christmas on the Square, and the Sip N' Stroll event.
Starting on Nov. 30, locals can join Santa for picture day during Small Business Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., as announced by the City of Garland. The day begins at the Visitor Center, offering holiday goodies and special promotions to bolster the local economy. The event also includes gift-wrapping services and a variety of holiday-themed attractions downtown.
Moving on to December 5, Santa Claus remains a centerpiece at the Christmas on the Square celebration. Starting at 5 p.m., attendees will have the chance to snap a memorable photo with Santa in the Downtown Square, amidst a backdrop of live music, live reindeer, and a snow hill, just to name a few enticing elements detailed by the City of Garland. The annual tree lighting ceremony is a highlight of this event, accompanied by a forest of Christmas trees and the glow of festive lights.
The last opportunity to capture a moment with Santa will be at the Sip N' Stroll, scheduled for Dec. 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. This ticketed event promises a family-friendly atmosphere, and alongside Santa, attendees will be able to meet Mrs. Claus and the Grinch for additional photo ops. Visitors can also enjoy local food and unique artisan crafts as they tour downtown Garland.
