Travelers heading into Orlando International Airport faced an unexpected hassle on Friday. A drainage issue at Airside 4 Terminal B led to a detour of inbound international flights. According to a report by WESH, airport authorities had to reroute these flights to Terminal C to undergo the necessary customs checks. The issue specifically plagued the Federal Inspection Services area, crucial in processing the influx of international travelers.
The snarl caused by a drainage problem did not affect domestic flights, allowing those operations to continue without delay. In a statement detailed by WFTV, airport officials confirmed that the affected gates, numbered 70-99, were integral to the international arrivals at Orlando International Airport.
Teams from the airport's facilities department were promptly on the scene, working diligently to ascertain the roots of the drainage issue. The airport staff was committed to a swift resolution, recognizing the importance of smooth operations within a hub as bustling as Orlando's gateway to the world.
