
A fatal incident occurred on Pierson Road in Mt. Morris Township yesterday when a bicyclist was struck and killed by a pickup truck. As reported by ABC12, the victim, identified as 37-year-old Camren Kelly Wymore, was hit from behind while riding east near Eastman Drive around 7 p.m. The impact was fatal, and Wymore was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the initial investigation, shared by MLive, the driver of the truck stopped and cooperated with law enforcement officials, agreeing to a blood test to determine the presence of intoxicants. The involvement of drugs or alcohol in the crash remains under investigation.
Following the accident, Pierson Road was shut down, affecting traffic from the YMCA entrance to the entrance of the Pierson Rd PNC bank, as informed by Mid-Michigan Now. It took hours before the thoroughfare was reopened.
The Genesee County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene, assisting with accident reconstruction, while the Mt. Morris Township Police preside over the ongoing investigation.
