
Early this morning, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a blaze in a two-story four-plex on 2715 S Alsace Avenue in the West Adams district, with flames visible on the second floor upon their arrival. The incident, logged as INC#0366, was reported via the LAFD Alert system at 07:08 AM. Firefighters adopted an offensive strategy to control the conflagration that had taken hold of the building.
The LAFD announced the knockdown of the fire at 07:23 AM, with a team of 32 firefighters extinguishing the flames within a span of 15 minutes. A patient was discovered in a vehicle adjacent to the affected structure, suffering from a serious traumatic injury, though burns were not reported. The patient's condition necessitated urgent transport for medical attention. Despite the severity of the fire, no individuals were found within the building itself.
Following the incident and the initial emergency response, the cause of the fire remains under investigation. The incident commander has called upon LAFD Arson investigators to determine the origins and potential causes of the fire that disrupted the early morning calm in West Adams. In the meantime, the LAFD has not released further details about the nature of the traumatic injuries sustained by the patient found at the scene, as inquiry into the incident continues.
