The shooting happened shortly after 8 p.m. inside the fenced stadium area south of the football field, during the varsity matchup between Independence High School and Centennial High School at 8001 Old River Road, according to Readers.id. Brown was rushed to Kern Medical, where he was later pronounced dead, per a report from Ground News. NBC Los Angeles was among the outlets confirming that a high school student was shot and killed at the game.
