The National Weather Service in Morristown, Tennessee, has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for parts of southwest North Carolina, east Tennessee, and southwest Virginia. Residents and travelers should be mindful of lingering fog through the hours following sunrise, particularly along I-40 and areas southward. Reduced visibility in these regions calls for cautious driving, according to the National Weather Service.
For today, the Knoxville area can anticipate sunny skies by late morning, with highs reaching a comfortable 62°F. Winds will be calm, shifting slightly to the northeast at around 5 mph. By evening, increasing cloud cover will bring cooler temperatures, with lows near 40°F and winds gradually diminishing.
The week ahead brings a pattern of partly sunny days and mostly cloudy nights, with highs in the upper 60s. However, rain chances increase Monday night, starting at 30% after 1 a.m. and escalating to 70% by Tuesday afternoon, with the potential for thunderstorms. Showers may persist throughout the week, underscoring a transition to a wetter, more unsettled weather pattern.
