Firefighters from the Folsom Fire Department, along with assistance from the El Dorado Hills Fire Department, were dispatched to a residential fire in Folsom on Misty Meadow Drive. The incident, which occurred last Sunday afternoon, resulted in moderate damage to one home. According to a news release on the City of Folsom's official website, the response team included five engine companies, three truck companies, and two chief officers alongside a paramedic ambulance.
The situation began with reports of smoke and visible flames from the rear of a two-story residence. Upon arrival, the first engine company managed to extinguish the flames within 8 minutes of their response, containing the blaze before it could inflict severe structural damage to the home and neighboring properties. However, an adjacent residence did require ventilation due to smoke intrusion.
Efforts continued as the crew checked for possible fire extension into the walls and attic of the affected home, ensuring that no hidden hotspots remained to threaten residents or structures. The quick response and thorough work by the fire departments helped prevent what could have been a more devastating outcome for the community. Details concerning the exact extent of the damage have not been fully released, yet initial assessments suggest that the exterior took the brunt of the damage.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in the wake of the fire. The cause remains unclear at this time, and an investigation is currently underway to determine what may have sparked this incident.
