Casey Slone, a former detention officer at the Oklahoma County Detention Center, was arrested for allegedly smuggling contraband into the jail. Reports indicate that she also communicated illegally with an inmate using a contraband cellphone, according to OKC FOX.

Slone, who began working at the Oklahoma County Detention Center on August 21, 2023, and was terminated on July 30, is accused of attempting to smuggle contraband into a state prison in Pittsburg County. This was discovered after her arrest by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Evidence reportedly links her to a contraband drop on May 14, which she allegedly arranged during her lunch break, as per a story by Free Press OKC.

"The actions of this former detention officer are an outright betrayal of the trust placed in them by the public and their colleagues," noted Brandi Garner, CEO of the Oklahoma County Detention Center. The contraband reportedly included K2-laced papers among other restricted items. A detailed probe into Slone's activities was instigated by information from the Department of Corrections, resulting in the discovery of surveillance footage and recorded phone calls which suggest the smuggling of these illicit materials into the Oklahoma County Detention Center and their delivery to a resident in the jail, in a statement acquired by Free Press OKC and KFOR.
