The City of Fort Collins has announced a two-day closure in observance of Thanksgiving, shutting down all City offices on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29 as part of the holiday schedule. According to the City of Fort Collins, residents will need to adjust their plans as various facilities including the Gardens on Spring Creek and all golf courses, take a brief hiatus.
Thanksgiving Day itself sees a swath of closures, with all recreation facilities and the Museum of Discovery going dark, however, essential services such as fire, police, and utilities will operate uninterrupted and Transfort will offer holiday service for those in transit. The day after, commonly known as Black Friday, observes the reopening of Transfort operations, the Museum of Discovery, and the Gardens on Spring Creek with all functioning under regular hours, the Senior Center, however, opens but only for the Holiday Artisan Market, finding the remaining recreation venues still closed.
Additional holiday hours include early closures on Wednesday, Nov. 27, with EPIC, Foothills Activity Center, The Farm, Mulberry Pool, Northside Aztlan Community Center, and the Senior Center ending services at 2 p.m., preparing for the Thanksgiving festivities. Fort Collins residents are therefore advised to plan their recreational activities around these holiday hours to avoid any inconvenience.
Adhering to the holiday spirit, the city's altered schedule aims to allow employees and the community to embrace the Thanksgiving holiday, meanwhile, residents are reminded to be mindful of the changes, particularly those relying on city services during this period. With the closures and modified hours taking effect soon, community members need to stay informed for a smooth transition through the festive season.
