Governor Maura Healey has nominated State Representative Jerald Parisella for the position of Associate Justice of the District Court, marking her 50th judicial nomination. The announcement was confirmed by her office, according to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Representative Parisella, a U.S. Army veteran and a legislator for over a decade, has been nominated for a position on the District Court. Governor Healey has expressed her support, noting his deep connection to public service and his ability to empathize with others. She stated, "As a member of the Legislature for more than a decade and a U.S. Army veteran, Representative Parisella is a true public servant who knows what it means to deliver for the people of Massachusetts," adding, "We believe that he has the knowledge, the compassion and the experience to excel on the District Court." His nomination is now awaiting approval by the Governor's Council, as stated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll and House Speaker Ron Mariano have expressed strong support for Jerry Parisella’s nomination to the District Court, praising his public service and experience. “Jerry’s commitment to helping others, along with his breadth of experience and deep understanding of the issues, has made him an invaluable asset to the House,” Mariano said. Parisella, who has served as a state representative since 2011, has also worked in the Massachusetts Army National Guard for 29 years. He has helped create laws on sports wagering and veterans' programs and has a legal background in real estate and estate planning.
