The Long Beach Police Department has reported a significant development in a recent homicide case involving a local homeless man. Kendell Williams, 36, was found dead with a gunshot wound to his upper body on October 22, in the 800 block of Alamitos Avenue. Through diligent investigative work, authorities have apprehended 55-year-old Al Gene Fisher in connection with the murder, according to a press release by the Long Beach Police Department.
Responding officers and Long Beach Fire Department personnel attempted life-saving measures upon discovering Williams. However, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Fisher, a resident of Hemet, was arrested in the City of Long Beach on November 15 and was found in possession of a firearm at the time of his arrest, the press release further detailed. Bail for Fisher has been set at $2,000,000, and he faces charges of murder and possession of a firearm by an ex-felon.
Additional witnesses who were in the vicinity at the time of the shooting are being encouraged to step forward. Information regarding the incident could prove crucial to the ongoing investigation.
