Residents of Henderson's Somerset Park can relax as the city has completed plumbing repairs that were at risk of displacing them. The City of Henderson finished the project, fixing underground leaks that had affected the community's water system, as per the FOX 5 Vegas report.

Residents near Boulder Highway and Galleria Drive had feared eviction but insisted they had met their financial obligations to the HOA. Somerset Park community member Kenny Kester told KTNV, "We paid our bills. It's the people who took the money from there that didn't handle it right."

Mayor Michelle Romero of Henderson praised the collaborative effort that kept residents in their homes. She said to KTNV, "I am pleased that the City was able to step in and successfully repair the underground water leaks and that we were able to keep Somerset residents in their homes." Romero also recognized the contributions of city departments and community partners.

Despite the successful repair, residents face financial challenges due to a tax lien to cover infrastructure costs. They are expected to pay between $5,000 and $7,000 per property, which raises concerns for some. The project, which included replacing over 85 underground laterals and removing hazardous structures, remained within the $604,000 budget approved by the City Council. The City of Henderson plans to discuss further steps and approve the assessment as an upcoming agenda item. The Somerset Park HOA will be responsible for ongoing property maintenance separate from the repaired plumbing infrastructure.
