As Houston experienced its coldest morning since late March, residents can expect temperatures to gradually rise throughout the week. Today will be bright and clear, with a daytime high of 69 degrees and light northwest winds, according to the National Weather Service. The temperature will drop to around 49 degrees tonight.
Friday is expected to bring sunny skies with a high around 71 degrees, maintaining calm conditions before a shift over the weekend. According to Fox26, a south wind is forecast to return, increasing both temperatures and humidity levels. By Sunday, highs are anticipated to reach into the 80s.
Looking ahead to Thanksgiving, a cold front could arrive, bringing cooler temperatures to holiday feasts on Thursday or the following day, with the possibility of a brisk and breezy atmosphere. "So far, rain doesn't look heavy, but a few showers are possible," states Fox26.
Meanwhile, the West Coast is experiencing more turbulent weather, as a "bomb cyclone" in the Pacific impacts northern California. Fox26 reports that a surge of moist air is being drawn into the region, raising the risk of flooding. These conditions highlight the contrast with Houston's milder climate.
Residents can expect mostly sunny days leading into the midweek, with highs around the mid-70s. By Wednesday, there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, marking a potential disruption before Thanksgiving festivities.
