A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 28-year-old man in Houston earlier this month. The Houston Police Department announced that Jorje Valles, 25, faces charges of murder and tampering with evidence following his arrest yesterday.
On the morning of November 15, HPD officers responded to a reported vehicle crash at 6200 West 34th Street. When they arrived, they discovered the driver, later identified as Micah Middleton, dead with multiple bullet holes in the vehicle. According to an official press release, the Houston Fire Department paramedics had already pronounced Middleton deceased at the scene.
No immediate motive or suspect description was available following the shooting. However, detectives from the HPD Homicide Division, identified as J. Jorsch and D. Lunceford, continued their investigation, which ultimately led to the identification of Valles as a suspect. Evidence gathered from the scene was instrumental in linking Valles to the incident.
After the Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and the charges were filed, Valles was apprehended by members of the HPD SWAT and Northwest Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team. The arrest was made without incident, and Valles is currently booked into the Harris County Jail. A booking photo of the suspect was also released alongside the press update detailing the charges he now faces.
