The heart of the event featured Houston's own Nick Gaitan belting out Tejas Roots Music, a fusion of boleros, Tex Mex, and Chicano Soul, as attendees, some with faces painted in skull patterns to symbolize life's cycle, engaged in the festive atmosphere.
