A juvenile suspect is now in custody following a series of events that started with a carjacking. According to a post by the Baltimore Police, a vehicle reported stolen in a carjacking last Friday was spotted by Western District Action Team officers on Saturday at around 7:30 p.m. Efforts to intercept the vehicle led to a police chase, an air unit's involvement, and a pedestrian seriously injured.

The situation intensified when the young driver tried to escape, crashing into a patrol car and continuing to flee. Police called in Foxtrot, the aviation unit, to track the vehicle from above. The chase ended when the car struck a pedestrian in the 400 block of West Saratoga Street, bringing it to a stop.

First responders quickly tended to the injured pedestrian, who was then hurried to a hospital. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, remains in critical but stable condition. Following the collision, the vehicle's occupants made a break for it, attempting to flee on foot from the scene of the vehicular mayhem they had caused.

With Foxtrot's directives, ground officers could locate the juvenile suspect. The 15-year-old driver was promptly apprehended in the 500 block of West Mulberry Street. Subsequent steps were precautionary—the young suspect was taken to a hospital before being formally processed and charged with a series of unlawful acts.
