A road rage shooting on the I-695 Outer Loop just before Maryland Route 295 shortly after 2 p.m. on September 2, 2026, ended with a 40-year-old Baltimore man in custody and charged with attempted murder. Maryland State Police say Brandon Allison fired a shot during an alleged road rage incident that struck the rear driver-side window of a Honda Accord, which had one occupant inside.
According to WBFF, the Honda Accord occupant was not injured in the shooting, despite the bullet striking the vehicle. Maryland State Police Glen Burnie Barrack troopers responded to the Outer Loop after the shooting was reported, according to the Maryland Department of State Police.
Suspect's Vehicle Tracked to Curtis Bay Warehouse
Investigators with the Highway Gun Crimes Initiative and Anne Arundel County police officers located Allison's Chrysler Pacifica parked at a commercial warehouse off Brandon Woods Boulevard in Curtis Bay. Maryland State Police took Allison into custody there without incident, per the same account from the station's report.
A court-authorized search of the vehicle turned up a loaded .40-caliber handgun, state police said. Allison now faces charges of attempted second-degree murder along with a separate charge for having a loaded handgun in a vehicle.
Decades-Long Prison Exposure Under Maryland Law
Attempted second-degree murder is a felony under Section 2-206 of the Maryland Criminal Law Code, carrying a maximum prison sentence of up to 30 years, according to FrizWoods. Prosecutors pursuing that charge must establish a specific intent to kill.
Separately, Maryland Criminal Law Section 4-203 makes it illegal to transport a loaded handgun inside a motor vehicle without a valid state wear and carry permit, a misdemeanor offense under Justia Law. Maryland does not offer automatic reciprocity to out-of-state carry permits, and enforces strict statutory standards for carrying firearms in vehicles on public roads.
Allison Held Without Bond, Investigation Ongoing
Allison is being held without bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center in Annapolis, Anne Arundel County's primary maximum-security intake and pretrial holding facility, which has a rated capacity of 635 inmates, according to Anne Arundel County Government. The Highway Gun Crimes Initiative is leading the ongoing investigation.

In June 2026, the unit charged a Prince George's County man with attempted murder after an alleged road rage shooting on MD 295 near Arundel Mills Boulevard in Anne Arundel County, with U.S. Park Police ultimately detaining that suspect in Washington, D.C. on a fugitive warrant.
