A morning scene of violence unfolded in East Harlem as a 32-year-old man, sitting in a Maserati, became the target of an attempted carjacking that left him with multiple gunshot wounds. The incident occurred at the BP gas station situated at East 129th Street and Park Avenue, shortly before the clock struck 9 a.m., as reported by ABC7 New York.
According to police, two suspects approached the victim and without a moment's hesitation or a word of warning they opened fire, the assailants quickly fled the scene down East 128th Street, their steps vanishing into the city's heartbeat as authorities rushed to respond, and as of now, they remain at large. The victim, amidst the chaos and spattered crimson, managed to remain in his vehicle and tried to escape, yet he could only muster the strength to move a short distance from the site of the attack, as detailed by 1010 WINS.
In the aftermath, the wounded man was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem where he received treatment for his injuries, which included gunshot wounds to the leg, arm, and shoulder, and where he is currently reported to be in stable condition. The NYPD has not yet determined a clear motive for the shooting, and an investigation is actively ongoing to uncover further details leading to the incident and the perpetrators involved.
