A man was taken to the hospital after a shooting near a popular park in Cary, according to local authorities. The Cary Police Department said the incident occurred late Saturday afternoon on E. Circle Drive, close to the busy intersections of E. Chatham Street and E. Durham Road.
The incident was called to police at approximately 5:40 p.m. and upon their arrival, officers discovered a man wounded by gunfire to his upper arm, a CBS17 news release informed, adding that the Cary Urban Park is situated in close vicinity to the scene. Meanwhile, the shooter had vacated the area before officers arrived notably absent upon their arrival, leaving community members uneasy until further details surfaced.
ABC11 reported that the victim's injuries were deemed not life-threatening. According to the statement obtained by CBS17, Cary Police Sgt. Kenric Alexander assured there was "no threat to the community" as the incident appeared to be isolated.
