In response to a reported break-in, Mattapan police officers have arrested three men on charges of Breaking and Entering. According to a statement from the Boston Police Department, officers from District B-3 apprehended the suspects yesterday afternoon following an attempted break-in at an apartment on River Street.

The incident occurred around 12:47 p.m. when officers were alerted to a suspicious situation. The suspects, identified as Carlos Bonnett, 32, of Boston, Francois Suker, 26, of Dorchester, and Jean Robert Nazaire, 37, of Mattapan, allegedly attempted to enter an apartment and fled when confronted by the occupant. Armed with pliers, a bent screwdriver, and a lockpicking tool, they were quickly located by law enforcement.

Upon their arrest, the men were found in possession of tools commonly used in burglaries, and damage to the apartment door and lock was observed. A Boston Police Department report indicated that the door frame showed signs of forced entry, supporting the charge of breaking and entering.

All suspects now face the prospect of being tried for Breaking and Entering Daytime for Felony, with Nazaire and Bonnett also facing charges for the Possession of Burglarious Instruments. After placing the suspects in handcuffs, shortly after they allegedly attempted entry into the apartment, they will be arraigned in the Dorchester District Court.
