In an incident that unfolded in recent weeks, Gerren Mitchell, a 40-year-old Memphis man, has been arrested in connection to a couple of shootings that occurred on Halloween night. According to Action News 5, Collierville police apprehended Mitchell following allegations that he fired several gunshots at customers outside the Circle K gas station located at the intersection of West Poplar Avenue and New Byhalia Road.

As reported by FOX13 Memphis, the suspect is charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder, four counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of felony vandalism. Officers were called to the scene just before midnight on October 31. No one was injured, but the building sustained damage when Mitchell took off in a red Chevrolet Silverado after firing five gunshots toward the patrons.

The Collierville Police Department detectives sprang into action, coordinating their investigation efforts with the U.S. Marshals Service, leading to Mitchell’s arrest in Memphis. The extensive search concluded with the discovery of the suspect's abandoned car by the Arkansas State Police just two days after the Halloween night incident.

Authorities also connected Mitchell to another shooting incident that took place in Southaven, Mississippi. As shared by WREG News, this separate case involved an individual who was shot at multiple times while pulling into storage units along Town and Country Drive on that same harrowing Halloween night. Caught by the rapid collaboration of the U.S. Marshals Service and local police, Mitchell is currently awaited extradition and faces attempted murder charges in Southaven.

Gerren Mitchell is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail, where he will remain until further judicial proceedings take place.
