Construction is ongoing in Middletown Township for the $10.6 million Langhorne-Yardley Road Improvement Project. Starting on Tuesday, there will be travel restrictions on Woodbourne Road (between Kilburn Road and the Core Creek Park entrance) and Langhorne-Yardley Road (between Bridgetown Pike and Briggs Road) until early March 2025. Work will occur from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with delays expected, according to PennDOT.
The plan includes replacing the old signalized T-intersection at Langhorne-Yardley and Bridgetown Pike with a single-lane roundabout, improving storm drainage, and widening lanes for resurfacing. James D. Morrissey, Inc., a Philadelphia company, is overseeing the project. The federal government is covering 80% of the cost, with the state picking up the rest, according to PennDOT.
This is not just for cars—pedestrians and cyclists benefit too. New flashing beacons (RRFBs) will be added at crossings east of Briggs Road and Maple Point Middle School, along with new paths connecting intersections to Core Creek Park driveways, according to PennDOT.
