Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have confirmed that 11-year-old Elisa Oziah Moore, who had been reported missing earlier this week, has been located. The department expressed their gratitude towards the community for their aid in the search. According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, they were able to safely reunite Moore with her family.
Earlier, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police had appealed to the public to help to locate Moore, who was last seen on Tuesday, around 3 a.m. She was described as a black female, 5'2" in height, weighing 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Moore was reported to have left her residence on Gold Pan Rd on foot. At the time of her disappearance, she was seen wearing light-colored pants and jacket, white crocs, and was carrying a pink and black backpack with the word "Justice" written on it.
The concern for Moore's well-being had been deeply felt within the community, emphasized by the family's worry and the urgency of the public alert issued by the police. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Missing Persons Unit had been in charge of the investigation which led to the successful outcome.
Citizens with any information about the case were previously urged to come forward and contact the police directly by calling 911. Now, with Moore safe, the police have not released further details regarding the circumstances of how she was found. The police did reassure the public, however, that Elisa is back home and in good condition.
