A 61-year-old man with a reported disability, James Donlevy, was found in southeast Charlotte after an extensive search, the Charlotte Fire Department confirmed. WBTV reported Donlevy had last been seen near Sardis Road in the vicinity of McAlpine Creek, prompting a response from emergency services early yesterday morning.
Firefighters set up a command post at the McAlpine Creek Greenway parking lot and, along with other units, searched the area for Donlevy. He was found around 7:30 a.m., ending the hours-long search that started when he was reported missing. WCNC described Donlevy as having short gray hair, standing 5'9" and weighing 140 pounds, and last seen wearing a gray and white hoodie and blue sweatpants.
Details about Donlevy's disappearance and current condition have not been widely released, but his safe return has brought relief to the southeast Charlotte community.
