According to reports by Dundee police, a 32-year-old Monroe woman is facing charges after an altercation with a hotel clerk at Splash Universe in Dundee. Authorities responded to the scene at approximately 4:55 p.m. on Saturday following a distress call from the hotel situated on White Tail Drive. According to ClickOnDetroit, the woman attempted to book a room online and at the establishment before the incident but grew confrontational when her credit card transaction was denied.
The situation escalated as the suspect was reportedly warned by the employee - a 20-year-old hotel clerk - that law enforcement would be contacted if her disruptive behavior continued. However, the warning seemed to fall on deaf ears, and the woman allegedly proceeded to jump over the counter and assault the hotel clerk. "The suspect became argumentative and began yelling at the clerk after the credit card was denied," Dundee police stated, as reported by ClickOnDetroit, which was documented by the same online source. The attack disrupted the clerk's attempt to call 911, but they managed to place the call after the physical confrontation.
Following the assault, the aggrieved hotel clerk was successful in contacting the local authorities, and the alleged attacker fled the scene with the nine children who were in her company throughout the incident. FOX 2 Detroit reported that despite the suspect fleeing the scene, the police could determine her identity using the identification and credit card information she had provided earlier to the hotel and security footage of the altercation.
Local police, who have pursued justice for the incident, anticipate filing charges through the Monroe County Prosecutor's Office as the investigation proceeds. Nonetheless, police are urging anyone with further information on the assault to reach out to Sgt. Dale Greenleaf at [email protected], based on additional details shared by 13abc.
