The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) confirmed it is investigating a shooting incident that resulted in a fatality in Southeast Washington DC. The event occurred on a recent Tuesday night and authorities were summoned in response to gunfire.
According to an official release from MPD, officers arrived at the 3300 block of 6th Street, Southeast, around 10:52 p.m. on November 5. Upon their arrival, they found an adult male inflicted with gunshot wounds. The victim, later hospitalized, succumbed to his injuries despite efforts to save his life.
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Keion Naylor, a resident of Suitland, Maryland, as detailed by the MPD. Despite the efforts underway to understand the circumstances surrounding Naylor’s death, no suspects have been presented at this time.
MPD is encouraging those with any information relating to the homicide to step forward. They emphasize that individuals should not confront or engage any potential suspects, but rather contact police at (202) 727-9099. The department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for details that could lead to an arrest and conviction in the violent crime that occurred in the District of Columbia.
