
Metropolitan Police are on the lookout for suspects linked to a series of armed robberies across the District yesterday. According to a press release from the MPD, each incident involved a suspect stepping out of a silver Hyundai Sonata, Maryland tags flashing, who then pointed a gun at victims to take their personal clothing.
A crime spree began at 3:41 p.m. at 4th and Sheridan Street, Northwest, and quickly spread to 4500 Kansas Avenue Northwest. The stolen vehicle was recovered later that day on Bangor Street, Southeast. The suspect continued their crime spree through Georgia Avenue Northwest, Eckington Place, and Harry Thomas Way Northeast. The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect. Each incident is tied to a specific case number.
Residents with information, however small or seemingly inconsequential, are encouraged to dial the police at (202) 727-9099. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can send tips to the MPD's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. To encourage cooperation, the department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in connection with these crimes, according to the same press release.
