The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, with local and federal partners, wrapped up an 11-month drug operation in Muscogee County called "Operation Strictly Business." The operation targeted drug trafficking and gang activity, resulting in four arrests, including two linked to the Bloods and Gang Disciples. Authorities seized over $2.2 million worth of drugs, firearms, and cash, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
In a display of multi-agency strength, the operation involved the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office, which detailed significant seizures including 467.1 pounds of marijuana and an assortment of other drugs with a cumulated street value of over $2.2 million. According to WSB-TV, several firearms were also confiscated, among them a Glock Switch and two Draco rifles, ramping up the total seizure's gravity. The intelligence-led sting circled culminating in the arrests of four individuals on various drug and weapon-related charges.
Among those arrested was Jorge Amando Almonte Mendoza, apprehended in Coweta County with an alleged inventory of 298 pounds of marijuana and other substances with intent to distribute. The subsequent day saw coordinated search warrants in Muscogee County and Russell County, Alabama, leading to additional arrests. "We will not stop until they stop their criminal behavior. Not on our watch! I want our citizens to rest better knowing that we are all hard at work for them to enjoy a better quality of life," Sheriff Greg Countryman was quoted in the WSB-TV report.
The collaborative efforts speak to a concerted push against organized crime that extends beyond county lines. Charged individuals include Dalvin Ferrell, Dequindre Snellings, and Jonathan Provo, facing a litany of charges from trafficking to possession and firearm offenses. The Muscogee County Sheriff's Office emphasized the operation's success attributable to cooperation with the FBI, HSI, Ft. Moore CID, GBI Gang Unit, and several county sheriff's offices.
