A serious collision involving multiple vehicles, including an overturned semi-truck, caused significant disruptions on I-94 just outside Ann Arbor last night. ClickOnDetroit reports that the incident occurred near Stone School Road.
Firefighters arrived to find a semi-truck carrying steel coils that had overturned, along with several damaged cars. One individual suffered serious injuries and had to be extricated from the wreckage using the Jaws of Life, as per the information provided by FOX 2 Detroit. The westbound lanes were shuttered for several hours to allow for cleanup operations before they were reopened around 11 p.m.
A social media post by City of Ann Arbor Fire Department detailed the response, mentioning the deployment of several fire engines and the collaboration with Pittsfield Township Fire Department.
As the investigation continues, the condition of the seriously injured victim has not yet been released. Updates are expected as Michigan State Police investigate further and work to clarify the circumstances surrounding the accident.
