
Residents across the boroughs of New York City are gearing up for a wet and windy end to the week, as detailed forecasts predict significant rain and the potential for gale-force winds moving into the area. According to National Weather Service's Manhattan forecast, today remains sunny with highs near 56 in Manhattan, but clouds will roll in tonight as the temperature drops to around 49 degrees.
In Brooklyn, the forecast is similar with today's sunny skies giving way to mostly cloudy conditions tonight, and a low around 47. As for Queens, the pattern holds with today's high nearing 58, while evening brings mostly cloudy skies and a low around 47, according to the NWS forecast.
Rain is set to arrive across all boroughs Wednesday night, with the Bronx expecting a 100% chance of precipitation after 10 p.m., and new precipitation amounts between a half, and three quarters of an inch possible. Staten Island, not to be outdone, also faces a wet outlook as forecasts anticipate rain after 10pm with low temperatures around 46.
Furthermore, the Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the National Weather Service includes no current warnings for today or tonight, but it does suggest gales are possible from Wednesday night through Thursday night on the coastal waters. New York City, along with southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey, and southeast New York, remains watchful as the week's weather unfolds.
