Tamarion Dejhun Adamson, a 30-year-old from Oklahoma City, pleaded guilty to making a false statement while attempting to buy a firearm. On July 22, he tried to purchase a gun from Sulphur Pawn in Sulphur, Oklahoma, but falsely indicated his criminal history on the required federal form, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.
Adamson falsified the ATF Firearms Transaction Record Form 4473 by stating that he was not under indictment or charged with a felony. However, he was actually facing felony charges in Oklahoma County at the time. This falsification violated the legal requirements for purchasing a firearm, resulting in federal charges against him, as reported by the United States Attorney’s Office.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson of the Eastern District of Oklahoma oversaw Adamson's plea and ordered a presentence investigation report to be prepared before sentencing. Adamson will remain in custody with the U.S. Marshals Service until the sentencing hearing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Dean Burris is handling the case for the United States. Details on the sentencing date have not been released. The original announcement was made in a press release on the U.S. Attorney’s Office's website on Tuesday, as stated by the United States Attorney’s Office.
