Early on Friday morning, Charlotte's commuters faced significant delays after a tractor-trailer flipped on the ramp from Interstate 85 to Interstate 77. According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), the accident occurred around 5:30 a.m., leaving the ramp closed and impacting traffic flow. With the ramp not expected to reopen until about 9:30 a.m., the closure was anticipated to heavily affect the morning rush-hour traffic, as reported by WBTV.

While the specific cause of the crash is yet to be revealed, traffic cameras depicted the truck lying on its side on a sharp left-hand curve of the ramp. In efforts to manage the situation and the resulting gridlock, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police advised motorists to avoid the affected area and opt for alternative routes, inadvertently captured on the traffic cameras when the truck on its side, as QC News reported.

WCNC Charlotte is still gathering details about the incident, including any potential injuries. However, Medic has confirmed that, fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.
