Perigold, an online retailer of luxury home goods under the Wayfair umbrella, has announced plans to open its first physical storefront in Houston's Highland Village shopping center in the spring of 2025. The store will mark the brand’s transition from online retail to a brick-and-mortar presence in the well-established shopping destination, which has been a part of the community since 1957, in a statement obtained by KHOU.
Rebecca Ginns, Global Head of Perigold, views this expansion as an opportunity to align with a region known for its vibrant culture and demand for premium design. "We are thrilled to announce the opening of our Houston storefront, further expanding Perigold’s presence in a market where we know there is a strong appetite for design and a lot of culture," Ginns remarked, according to a Furniture Today interview. Occupying nearly 20,000 square feet, Perigold plans to give customers an opportunity to experience its luxury furniture, decor, and designer brands in person, which were previously available only online.
Perigold’s decision to open in Highland Village highlights the center's established reputation for luxury, with over 60 specialty shops and upscale dining options that have attracted shoppers in Houston for years. This location positions Perigold alongside other high-end retailers, reflecting its focus on quality and exclusivity.
Local and national designers are eyeing the opening with anticipation. "I’m excited to see Perigold opening a brick-and-mortar location," said Marie Flanigan, a Houston designer and long-time Perigold partner, "and Houston is the perfect place for it." Her endorsement, as reported by Furniture Today, aligns with the anticipation within the city's design community, as many are looking forward to experiencing Perigold's curated collection of premium brands in person.
Perigold's accelerated timeline for its brick-and-mortar expansion includes the upcoming spring opening of its Houston location, followed by a planned two-story showroom in West Palm Beach, which was initially expected to open in Fall 2025.
