In a move to bolster support for single parents striving for self-improvement through education, Phoenix welcomes the breaking ground of the Phoenix Scholar House, set to provide a nurturing space for over 50 families working to make ends meet. This initiative falls under the compassionate wings of Save the Family, a non-profit organization, and Brinshore Development, as ABC15 reports.

The Phoenix Scholar House, located on the former site of a church at Thomas Road and 18th Place, represents community transformation, marked by its $3.23 million sale in August, as detailed in an AZCentral article.
Robyn Julien, the CEO of Save the Family, explained during the groundbreaking that the organization not only offers housing but also extends holistic support including therapy, job training, and programs for children and youth, with about 80% of families achieving self-sufficiency post-program, according to AZCentral report.
Grounding this initiative in real-life success, Maria Wilson shared her journey at the ceremony, depicting how the Scholar House model aided in her rise from a single parent in distress to a thriving attorney—an aspirational mirror for future residents, as documented by ABC15.
